Condolences
Dear Bertha, as we mentioned by phone the other day; we had only just learned of the passing of Fred … But how the memories flooded back to when, as a young family, moving in from Montreal we stayed at the “Hotel Omelusik” – that was back in 1973! Bertha, your’s and Fred’s hospitality is legendary – So blessed to have known you both … Thinking of Fred

It is a long time since the IBM days. We really enjoyed knowing Fred in those days and had run into him too few times since.
We send our deepest sympathies to the family, but time is catching up to us all.

Dear Bertha
so sorry to hear Fred has gone home.
I was a brash young graduate coming to Calgary in 1980, and you and Fred made me feel so welcome. You had me over for dinner a number of times, and always were friendly and encouraging and interested. We will remember Fred with affection, and we look forward to seeing him again

Your old Mayhem pal, Grandma Lea
It was touching to read the condolences–Emerys saying how Fred made them feel welcome in the 1970s and the lady who met him at Alpha class–that’s the thing about pillars, they are always productive and Fred was one of those. He will be greatly missed in Calgary and our thoughts are with Bertha and the family–Neil and Susan
Hi Bertha and family sorry to hear you’ve lost Fred but we know he’s in good hands now and we will all see him in a new and better world. All our love and condolences even though we can’t make it to the memorial. Bill & Louise
Sorry to hear the sad news. Fred will be truly missed. We do know we will see him again in the not too distant future. Bertha our prayers and thoughts are with you and family at this time.
Dearest Bertha and family,
We send our deepest condolences on Fred’s passing.
We will always remember his wonderful sense of humor and his truly welcoming smile. Along with those bear hugs that made us feel like cherished friends. Fred was always kind and gentle in his nature and it was real pleasure to spend time with him. Fred wrote some very grand poems in his time. Very glad that we were able to hear some of them.
Had been thinking of getting together for a visit, so sorry we missed doing that.
We deeply regret that we will not be able to attend the Memorial for Fred, as we will be in New Brunswick.
You will be in our prayers.
With Love
Marco and Jane Kozic
I let others know of your loss and all responded about as you would have. I see Danny already sent his name. Will see you Wednesday for sure.

Dear Bertha,
More than 35 years ago Fred greeted John, who was a newcomer to WWCG services – as a matter-of-fact, it was his first service at WWCG. He then invited him to his and your home to share a meal and fellowship. There would be many occasions that Fred along with you, Bertha, would open up their home to folks.
We were blessed to have Fred in our lives. He always had a kind word to say and welcomed everyone with open arms, without judgment. He will be truly missed.
Bertha, we wish you and all of your family, our sincerest condolences. May God provide you with the strength that you need in the coming days, months and years.
God bless,
John & Diane, Sean, Philippe, Paul and Desiree.
Dear Bertha, Keith, Karen & Amy,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
I remember going to the Alpha program at church and Bertha and Fred came to support me in my journey to becoming a Christian. Every single week we met Fred would offer me encouragement to keep seeking God and he freely shared his faith with all of us.
May God comfort and strengthen all of you at this time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
With love,
Teresa Trimble

We have been wanting to get together; sorry we missed that opportunity.
Dear Bertha
Our deepest condolences with Fred’s passing.
I am glad we still gave him a hug in the parking lot. We have very many fond memories of him. We will be there on Wednesday.

Bertha, Keith, Karen, Amy and family – Our loving memories of Fred, uncle by marriage, span many decades and it is hard to realize he has finished this phase of his life and has moved on to a place of peace and reward. He will be sadly missed but also celebrated for the wonderful example of selflessness, strength and true Christianity he constantly portrayed. He set the bar high for all of us. Our prayers are with you now.
