Obituary of LYLE – Ronald John

August 22, 1923 – June 20, 2011 Ron Lyle, beloved husband of Frances Lyle of Calgary, passed away on June 20, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Ron was born in Gouldtown, SK to Eric and Irene Lyle. He was one of six children. He spent much of his childhood growing up near Bergen, AB. Ron served overseas in WWII for 3 ½ years and returned to begin his thirty-two year career as a Forest Ranger with the Alberta Forest Service. After an early retirement to BC he then joined the BC Forest Service where he worked until the age of 65. Ron and Fran moved to Calgary to be closer to family. He will be missed by all who knew him. Besides his loving wife of forty-four years, Ron is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne Lyle and Rick Edel; a son and daughter-in-law, Murray and Tracy Lyle. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Les and Mary Lyle; and his sister Ethel Hankel.
