Obituary of STIRLING – Marjorie Belle

March 30, 1925 – June 12, 2011 Marjorie Stirling of Calgary passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the age of 86 years. She was born in New Waterford, NS to Malcolm and Johan MacLean. Marjorie had three sisters and four brothers. She married and moved to Alberta where she raised her two children. In her younger days she was active with Officer’s Wives, Oil Wives, modeling, bowling and golfing. In the latter years painting became her passion. Her loved ones were her strength and her entertainment. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her long time partner, Marvin Skreslet and family members, daughter, Laverne Bowen-Kruger (Ron); son, Brian Hougestol (Becky); stepsons, Al and Rick Stirling; grandchildren, Shannon Bowen-Smed (Peter), Jeffrey Bowen (Jessica), Trevor Drapeau (Chantal); four great grandchildren; brother, Percy MacLean (Tine) and sister, Margaret Dunbar (Robert); and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sister-in-law Catherine MacLean and brother-in-law, Harry Cheesman. Marjorie was predeceased by five brothers and sisters. Our family wishes to thank the staff of the third floor of Carewest Garrison Green for their compassionate and tender care of our loved one. A private family service was held.
