Obituary of MAGUIRE – Rena Gayle

October 4, 1953 – June 11, 2011 It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of a much loved woman, Rena Gayle Maguire. Rena went to meet her Lord and Saviour God on Saturday, June 11, 2011. She was surrounded by her family at her time of passing. Rena worked for the Siksika Day Care and then managed the Siksika Restaurant. Her last employer was the Siksika Health Services in the Home Care department as a Health Aide. It was Rena’s strong faith and love of family that kept her going during her five year battle with cancer. Rena leaves behind her loving and caring husband Marvin and their two boys Lee (Cheryl) and Casey (Susan). She raised two girls as her own Jocelyn (Troy) and Edeena (Dallon) and grandson’s Ty and Weston. Rena loved all her grandchildren Alicia, Detroit, Strait, KC Rae, Jazzlyn, Christian, Colton, Valene, baby Caleb, Darren, Tanzy, Zhane, Shayden, Devonte, Colby. She will also be missed by sisters that she loved very much Claudia (Joe), Melvina (Clifford), Irma (John), Delia (Marvin), Anne, Francine (Mike); loving brothers Frank (Clara) and Ivan (Valorie), uncle and Elder of the family George Fox, two special aunties Alice Weasel Child and Virginia Medicine Traveller; adopted sisters Julia Bear Hat, Delphine Young, Debbie Old Woman, Alvine Eagle Speaker and Colleen Sitting Eagle; adopted brothers Wayne, Morris, Baxter, Jesse, Joseph Old Woman, Francis Cutter, Mervin, Clarence, Francis, Mark Jr. and Allen Wolf Leg; in-laws Judy (Robert), Elsie, Winston, Noel, Debbie (Joe). Rena had a lot of love for her nieces and nephews which she showed in her own special way. She is also survived by extended families, Big Tobacco, Many Guns, Yellow Fly, Rabbit Carriers, Red Guns, Spotted Eagles, Cutters, family of William Many Heads, Calf Childs, Ayoungman, Melting Tallows, Crowfoots and family of the late Laura Good Eagle. The family apologizes for anyone we may have missed. She is predeceased by her father Francis Big Tobacco and mother Edna Fox; brother’s Jeffrey, Joseph, Woody Royal and sister Joyce; beautiful niece Karen; brothers-in-law Wilfred Calf Robe and Jasper Jr. Many Heads; good friend Darlene Wolf Leg. Wake Services will be held at the Gordon Yellowfly Memorial Arbour, Siksika Nation, AB on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Siksika Nation, AB on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Canon Stockton Cemetery, Siksika Nation, AB.
