Obituary of Janice Lynn Waite Thompson

1956 – 2011 Janice passed away at home on Thursday, June 9, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband John, daughter Emma, parents Rev. Douglas and Jean Waite, siblings James (Joyce, step-children Robin and Matthew), Paul (daughter Elizabeth), and Leslie Anne. For many years Janice contributed enormously to the musical life of Calgary as a pianist, chamber musician and teacher, being involved with the Conservatory at MRU, the U of C, the CPO, the Banff School of Fine Arts and the Instrumental Society. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Calgary Palliative Care Team and Com Care, especially Andrea O’Brien and Janet Hutton, for their devoted support and compassion in the last year. A Memorial Service will be held at Scarboro United Church (134 Scarboro Avenue S.W.) on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
