Obituary of MACLELLAN – Deborah

November 21, 1958 – June 5, 2011 Deborah Maclellan passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 after 52 great years and a long and hard battle with cancer. Debbie’s life was filled with the joy that she received from a loving family, a great group of close friends and time spent on her favourite pastimes of summer vacations at the lake, and winter months playing hockey. Debbie was a proud mother to children, Merry, Jack, Will and Molly who were a continual source of joy to her, whether it was on summer vacations at the cottage in Temagami, or through regular calls while away at school. Debbie was filled with an athletic and creative spirit that lives on in these wonderful children. Debbie is also survived by her loving mother Edna Erwin, younger brother Larry Erwin, and husband Colin. A passionate shinny player with the Hockey Bags, Baguettes, and Oakridge Shooters, she treated the family to the occasional replays of ‘top corner’ goals on the shooter-tutor. Through her hockey, the athletic activities of her kids, and her adopted family she developed a great group of close friends. A heartfelt thanks for the tremendous support she received from them through her life and her battle. Additional thanks to the great staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic in Calgary, with a special thank-you to Dr. Scott Dowden a great oncologist and person. A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
