Obituary of BAILIE – Kathleen Mary

August 4,1928 – June 4, 2011 Kathleen “Kay” Bailie passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the age of 82 years. Kay was born on a farm outside Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and also lived in Shaunavon, Indian Head, and Regina before moving to Alberta. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Alberta in 1951. She worked as a nurse in Alberta for several years, both at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton and at the Calgary General Hospital, and taught nursing skills at the University of Alberta. Her second career focused on her marriage to Bob, and on raising their four children. She was an active member of the United Church, teaching Sunday school, playing the organ, and serving on many committees. Kay is survived by her husband Robert and their children John Bailie, Anne (Dane) Sinclair, Doug (Lisa) Bailie, Alison (Mike) Koebel, and her grandchildren Kirk, Cale, Hayley, Jena, Myles, and Dylan.
