Obituary of LEE – Jack
August 27, 1934 – June 2, 2011
Jack Lee of Calgary, passed peacefully away on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the age of 76 years.
A true Albertan and proud Calgarian, Jack was born in Crossfield, AB, as the third child and second son of Charlie (Ho Shuit) Lee of Canton, China, and Mabel Lowe of Victoria, B.C. He is survived by his aunt, Lil Quan, of Victoria, B.C., and by his brother Raymond (Loretta) Lee and sister Ruby (George) Fong, both of Calgary. He is also survived by nephews Larry Fong and Brian Fong of Calgary, Brad (Eleanor) Lee, of Toronto, Mike (Kelly) Lee of Calgary, and niece Karen (Kevin) Tom of Madison, New Jersey, and their families.
Fondly known as “Uncle Jack” to his extended family and many friends, Jack worked for thirty-two years at the old post office in downtown Calgary and at the Harry Hays federal building before retiring in 1989. After retiring, he enjoyed his painting and good conversation, and his art was shared with many of his friends. Jack also loved sports, cheering for the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Stampeders. He was optimistic about life and when he passed away it was with hope in his heart.
