Obituary of MANYWOUNDS – Sherman Wayne

May 5, 1966 – May 30, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sherman (Sonny) Manywounds at the age of 45 years. Sherman is survived by his loving parents Francis and Laurette Manywounds from the Tsuu T’ina Nation along with his cherished children; Trevor, Racquel (Darryl), Denny (Erin), Rayshel (Clovis) Sherman Jr. (Raven), Darby, Brock and Joeyira; brothers and sisters Adeline, Sharon, Shane, Buddy, Livia and Lyndon. Sherman was a proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren, Dante, Haylie and Cellia. He is also survived by his friend and ex-wife Cecelia Manywounds and common law wife Delores Twoyoungman; nephews Dusty, Chandler, and Koda and niece Sierra. He is also survived by many extended family from the Tsuu T’ina, Siksika and Nakoda Nations. Sherman (sonny) was known in the sport of rodeo all his life and loved to share stories about his rodeo days with anyone that had the time. In 1986, he was inducted into the Calgary Stampede Outrider Hall of Fame. Sherman was a good father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and most of all a friend to everyone. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his best friend and tomboy sister Rena Kim Manywounds, numerous family and friends; fraternal grandmother Annie Simeon/Manywounds, maternal grandparents Samual Cutter and Genevieve Big Tobacco. The family apologizes for anyone they may have missed. Wake Services will be held at the home of Francis and Laurette Manywounds (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB) on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB) on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuu T’ina Nation Cemetery.
