Obituary of McHUGH – Blair Joseph

“Sikimmiyohkitopi” (Black Horse Rider) July 28, 1955 – May 29, 2011 Blair McHugh passed away in Calgary at the Rockyview Hospital on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the age of 55 years. He was very proud of being an employee of Sarcee Seven Chiefs Sportsplex. He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed hand games, the rodeo, pow-wows, camping and his leather work. Blair was a strong, proud man, that always gave great advise. Blair is survived by his wife Melinda Blackwater; daughters Yvette Starlight (Lynden), Jane Starlight (Pernell); sons Larson Starlight (Trudy), Blair McHugh Jr. and Kyle Blackwater; two grandchildren Donovan and Chenoa Starlight. He is also survived by his sister Sonia; brothers Neil (Carol), Ronald, Jerome and Trevor (Mandi) numerous nieces, nephews and extended families McHugh, Starlight, Meguinis, Onespot, McMaster, Running Rabbit, Red Crow, Pantherbone, Black. He was predeceased by his mother Pearlene and father Ronald; brothers Barry and Warren and sisters Donna and Sandra. Wake Services will be held at Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbor (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbor (Siksika Nation, AB) on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Paul Little Walker Cemetery.
