Obituary of GATES – Alfred Harry

August 15, 1926 – May 26, 2011 Alf passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at the age of 84 years. He is survived by his loving wife June; sons, David (Jean), Clive, Steven (Liz) and Nigel; and daughter Julie (Ed); Elizabeth; and he was a much loved grandfather and great-grandfather. The family would like to thank all the staff of Southwood Hospice and all doctors who looked after Alf. A Memorial Service will be held at Cathedral Church of the Redeemer (218 – 7th Avenue S.E.) on Saturday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Southwood Hospice, 211 Heritage Drive S.E., Calgary, AB, T2H 1M9, or to Father Lacombe Care Centre (ADP), 332 – 146 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB, T2X 2A3.
