LONG Gordon Bradbury

Obituary of LONG – Gordon Bradbury

1948 – 2011 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, Papa, brother and friend. Gord bravely and courageously battled cancer three times over the past sixteen years. He was born in Edmonton and moved to Calgary at age three. After graduating high school, he went on to study Petroleum Technology at SAIT. Following a few years in the oil industry, Gord moved on to a very successful twenty year career in real estate. After leaving real estate, he put on his entrepreneurial hat forming a decorative concrete business. Gord leaves to mourn his passing, Liz, his high school sweetheart and wife of forty years, son Tyson (Mandy), grandsons Charlie and Oliver, daughter Jaime Freestone (Ken), step grandson Gage and step granddaughter Peyton, brother Gary (Vickie), as well as several nieces and nephews. Gord was predeceased by his parents Walter and Jean. He was a quiet, sincere, honest, witty and hardworking man who loved golfing, fishing, RVing and spending time with family and friends. Retiring in 2005, Gord and Liz enjoyed the warm winters in Arizona. He was proud Captain of Team LiveLong riding in last year’s Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. If friends so desire, donations can be made in his honour for this year’s ride to Team LiveLong at www.ab11.conquercancer.ca. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N., Calgary. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
