Obituary of DOUGLAS – Voleta Eva
December 15, 1918 – May 22, 2011
Voleta Douglas quietly passed away at the age of 92 years, in Calgary.
Voleta was born on the family farm in Donalda and always cherished happy memories of her childhood. After high school, she moved to Edmonton and enjoyed working downtown at the King Edward Hotel. There she met and fell in love with Bob, her husband of forty-two years. Voleta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved travelling, had a wide circle of friends, was an avid bridge player, enjoyed gardening, bowling, reading and golf.
Voleta is lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law Don and Kim; grandsons, Greg (Carri), Kyle (Dawn), Scott, James; great-grandsons, Joshua, Miller and John; daughter-in-law Jan; grandson Craig (Jenn) and granddaughter Kari. She was predeceased by her husband Bob and her son Brian.
A Celebration of Voleta’s life will be held in Edmonton at a later date.
