Obituary of McLEAN – Georgina Lynn

December 12, 1951 – May 15, 2011 Georgina McLean, beloved wife of Gord McLean of Airdrie, passed away unexpectedly after a short battle with cancer, on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the age of 59 years. Georgina was born in Weyburn, SK and moved to Calgary, graduating from the U of C with her Bachelor of Education. She met Gord, the love of her life, in Calgary and married in 1975. Georgina worked as an advocate with at risk youth, children and their families. Georgina will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the many children she parented throughout her career and the families she helped. Georgina is survived by her loving husband Gord; two sons, Keith and Bryce; two sisters, Colleen (Mike) Melanson of Weyburn, SK, Wendy Dixon of Katepwa Lake, SK, (Tony Dixon of Airdrie); two brothers, Brian (Janice) Bernard of Weyburn, SK, Calvin Bernard of Regina, SK; Gord’s mother Louise Starr of Airdrie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Joyce Bernard and Louise’s partner Marcel Houle.
