Obituary of PINKNEY – Marjorie Jane
Jane Pinkney, a long term resident of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 11, 2011.
Jane received her training and worked as a R.N. in Saskatoon. After raising her family, she worked for fourteen years as a Unit Clerk at the Foothills Hospital. In retirement, Jane enjoyed extensive traveling, cruising, camping, and being a snowbird in Arizona.
She is survived by her best friend and husband, Ron and their children Doug (June), Susan and Sandy and three grandchildren Jaclyn, Andrea, and Grant who she adored and brought great joy to her life. Jane is also survived by her brother, Dr. George (Emily) Peacock of Saskatoon and her five nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Dr. and Mrs. G.W. Peacock.
Graveside Service will be held in Section G at Queen’s Park Cemetery (31st Ave and 4th Street NW) on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Foothills Hospital with special mention to Dr. Mack and Dr. Dowden, and the Sarcee Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to a charity of one’s choice.
