Obituary of WATT – Olive Lily
February 12, 1918 – May 10, 2011
Our Mom was born in Cupar, Fifeshire, Scotland, on February 12, 1918 and passed away peacefully in Calgary on May 10, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Tom, son Laird, sister Sheila (Kury) and her parents. She is survived by her daughters Gloria and Deborah (Fred) and her grandchildren Laurel (Pudge), Sheryl, Teryl (Dana), Tom (Karen), Tanis (Peter), Travis (Daria) and her great granddaughters Chanel and Dana. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. When our Dad passed away in May of 1956, Mom returned to the workforce, and worked for the Federal Government until her retirement in November 1979. Mom was a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge and volunteered for the Red Cross for many years. She was a member of Chalmers Presbyterian Church and St. Giles Presbyterian Church. Her passion was the Calgary Flames and she was a loyal fan until her passing.
At Mom’s request there will be no memorial service. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or to The Calgary Humane Society. Our thanks to Doctor Samis, Demi, Maria and the nursing staff of Unit 51, Peter Lougheed Centre for taking such good care of our Mom. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
