Obituary of SCOUT – Jonathan William Frederick ‘Billy’

March 12, 1977 – May 7, 2011 Billy Scout passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the age of 34 years. Billy was raised in Morley Alberta, and was currently residing on the Siksika Nation. Billy loved to cook and was a family legend Barbequing. In his younger years he was very active in sports, he was a provincial track and cross country champion, he excelled in Rodeos, first as a boy’s steer rider and later on as a bull rider, as a horse trainer, there was no horse he couldn’t tame. Most of all he was an exceptional pow-wow singer and a champion grass dancer. Billy was raised in the traditional way of life and was very knowledgeable in his mother’s Sioux Culture and his dad’s Blackfoot Culture. Billy was raised to have strong family values and was very close to his siblings, especially his baby sister T.J. and all his nephews and nieces, but most of all, he loved his son Ardell very much. Billy is survived by his son Ardell, his parents Rod and Cindy Scout, brothers William Scout, Kyle (Angel) Scout and Ryan Buffalo; sisters T.J Scout, Lynn Scout (Fergus), Reannin Scout, Bianca Jacobs, Tabatha Jacobs and Linda Bearspaw. As well as his grandmother Liz Scout, aunts and uncles Stuart Scout (Joanne), aunt Pebbles, aunt Velma Clarke/Arnault (Bernie), aunt Sandra Broad Scalplock (Delbert), aunt Marion Big Tobacco, his biological mother Cheryl Jacobs, maternal grandparents Dave and Grace Daniels and numerous relatives in Siksika, Blood Reserve, Morley and Ts’uu Tina and the United States. He is also survived by his biological father Johnny Blood as well as the Turning Robe family, Rabbit Carrier family, Scout family, Strangling Wolf family, Daniels, Big Tobacco family and One Spot family, and all his Pow-Wow bro’s (you know who you are) Billy was predeceased by his grandfather Willie Scout, his brother Rod Peter, his uncle Johnny Scout, uncle Werner Daniels, Ray One Spot, uncle Ross Evans Scout and grandpa Chris Strangling Wolf. Wake Services will be held at Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbour Siksika Nation on Thursday May 12, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbour (Siksika Nation) on Friday May 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Paul Little Walker Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
