Obituary of MacLEAN – John Murray

December 2, 1923 – May 7, 2011 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John Murray MacLean, on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Cochrane Bethany Care Centre. Dad, one of nine children, was born on December 2, 1923 on a farm in the Handhills Lake district. Dad spent most of his working life in the automobile service industry and was an active supporter of the communities he lived in through the Knights of Columbus and Elks. Family get-togethers and celebrations were the happiest and most cherished times for Dad. He leaves to mourn his wife of sixty-eight years Claire, along with their children, John MacLean (Jenny), Joan Broatch (Dick), Carol Laczkovics (Lou), Ron MacLean (Betty); and ten grandchildren, John MacLean (Maryann), Michelle De Madeiros (John), David MacLean (Kendra), Janice Martin (David), Graeme Broatch (Ivana), Kirsten Jones (Marshall), Dana Della-Mattia, Jason Laczkovics, Matthew MacLean (Becky), and Steven MacLean; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Eunice Wyman and Jean Beingessner; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Smith (Lorne) and Rita MacLean. Dad was predeceased by grandson Robert in January 2011. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ-King Catholic Church (4916 – 54 Street, Stettler, AB), on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. You may forward condolences through .
