Condolences
To the Brockelsby family,
Your father will be missed but the fond memories of how to laugh, to demonstrate kindness and to share, will live on years to come. Mr. and Mrs B. were always generous with us, sharing stories and experiences. Memories stretch from Scouting days, sharing their home as the safe party place when we were teens, lounging on their boat in hot summers, presenting magic performances for my children, and always welcoming us in their homes both in Ontario and Alberta.
Thank you for the privilege of knowing you both and with fond memories.
Annie and family
Les was my first mentor in the world of magic. His enthusiasm, passion, and generosity were truly unparalleled. He spurred many young performers into a lifelong love of the art and I am sure that his influence wasn’t limited to just the magic community, but extended to the community at large. He was always in good spirits with a story to tell and ready to share his time and experience with whomever would benefit from it. I shall miss him.
I regret that I was unable to pay my last respects in person, and would like to publicly say to Les’ family and friends that you all have my deepest condolences.
Les impacted so many lives in such a positive way – and that is a sign of a life well lived.
Gerry, Susan, Taylor, Lawren and family,
We’re very sorry for your loss. We’re thinking of you today.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth, Scott, Gregory, Cameron and Tash

We met at the Calgary Magic Club, IBM Ring 66. As some of us got older we would meet socially and have some great laughs as we performed magic for each other. We had a great time as we put on a show for his many friends at the Seniors home and also the times we got together at his last residence and exchanged stories and trade secrets about Les’ love, “Magic”. I have some of the Magic Tricks that he made and they will always be of great value to me as I remember the good times of friendship our group shared. We love you Les and will remember you with the fondest of memories.
Gerry,
Our deepest sympathies to you and your family during this difficult time.

We are saddened to hear that our community has just lost a true ambassador of the conjuring art.
We are grateful for our memories resulting from friendship with Les through magic club activities.
With sincere sympathy,
Caroline & Gil
I have only known Les for about 7 years when I took over the Jr. Magic Club in Calgary. We became friends immediately because of our interest in magic and business. I have moved to Mexico about 2 years ago but I would always stop in and visit Les when I was in town and when his health was good we would go out for lunch and talk about everything. I will miss him but I know he is needed elsewhere. He had a very magical personality. John Horsley
On behalf of the Calgary Magic Circle, our hearts and prayers go out to Les’ family. Les’ inspiration to the community of magicians in Calgary will be greatly missed.

To the Family & Friends of Les Brockelsby
It is with great sadness that I received the notice this afternoon of Les’s passing.
I am sorry that I am not able to be there today to celebrate his life with family and friends, as I am under performance contract this weekend.
But, I do want to pass on to you my sincere condolences and kindest regards.
You will have many wonderful memories that you shared, cherish them all.
We too, spent many good times together, and the memories are indeed special!
Les and I became good friends in 1991. I had just been appointed Canadian Territorial Vice President for Alberta, by the International Brotherhood of Magicians just about a year earlier.
I was working hard contacting and drawing other local magicians together, so we could be chartered once again, as IBM RING 66 – The Calgary Magic Circle, when I had a phone call from Les inquiring about ‘this magic club that was starting up’ that he had read about in the Calgary Herald newspaper.
Well, as it happened, we were having a magic lecture by a Montreal magician that weekend, at the Highlander Motor Hotel.
So, I invited Les to join me and I introduced him to the Calgary Magic Circle, and had
Les sign the charter application as well.
Les became an enthusiastic member of our very first executive. I always admired him for his willingness to take a very active part in the planning, and his willingness to help.
With deepest sympathies,

I met Les about four years ago and know how much he will be missed by family and friends as he has touched many of us.
