Obituary of BARKER – Carol June Rose

June 14, 1931 – April 24, 2011 Carol Barker, beloved wife of Marvin Barker of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011. Besides her soulmate Marvin, Carol is survived by her loving children, Kevin and Gayle Barker, Joanne and David Lavalley, Beverly Barker and partner Sean; and by her much loved grandchildren, Jaclyn and Robert Barker and Andrew and Christopher Spanier. She is also survived by two sisters, Georgina (Albert) and Beverly; brother Robert (Liz); sisters-in-law, Edith, Doris, Helen, and Jean; and numerous nieces and nephews; also, by two cats, her nap buddy, “Mr. Big” and her ankle biting nemesis “Snicklefritz”. Carol/Mom will always be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humour, her love for family and all the pets, furry and feathered friends that passed through her life. Mom and Dad loved to dance and watching them was magical. They glided around a dance floor as if they were one. It seemed that they were the only couple on the floor. Now, Mom can dance again. She was predeceased by parents Jake and Stella Arnold; her sister Evelyn; and sister-in-law, Annette, parents-in-law Brooks and Bertha Barker; sister-in-law Anna; and brothers-in-law, Hank, Norm, Elmer, Cliff, and Ivor.
