Obituary of CURLEY – Grace Hope

June 25, 1922 – April 20, 2011 Grace Curley of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Born June 25, 1922 in Moose Jaw, SK Grace spent her early childhood in a carefree manor with her two older brothers, Jack and George. A move of her father with CPR brought her to Calgary where she attended Rideau and Western Canada High School. From there she went on to business school which would launch her career at the Trust Company, Standen Oil and the Petroleum Francaise. It was there that Frank Curley came into her life and became her loving husband of forty four years. Grace enjoyed the company and entertaining of family and friends, travel, bowling, a good gin rummy game and volunteering with the ladies of the Holy Cross Auxiliary. Her devotion to family and the raising of her children however was always foremost and Grace considered time spent watching her grandchildren grow her greatest gift. Grace lived her life in the true spirit of her name with a quiet strength and dignity that endeared her to all who knew her well. She was a truly gracious lady and her warmth of spirit will be sadly missed. Grace is survived by her loving children Paul Curley, Mary Frances Burgess and son-in-law Brian and four adoring grandchildren Sam, Ben, Megan and Danielle. She is also survived by her brother George Simpson; a nephew Ken (Ev) Simpson; a niece Valerie (Terry) Bajer; a brother-in-law Al (Marg) Curley and a sister-in-law Irene Reddin; as well as other numerous nieces and nephews.
