Obituary of SIMPSON – Myrna Grace

June 22, 1942 – April 18, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Myrna Grace Simpson on Monday, April 18, 2011 at the age of 68 years. Myrna was born in Calgary; lived all of her life here and enjoyed this city. She was a fun loving person who lived for the moment; she touched so many lives and made friends quickly because of her jovial spirit. The Calgary Stampede was a passion for her. She attended every parade in her sixty-eight years and was proud of it. Myrna spent the majority of her working years as an administrator in the communication industry, she concluded her career at the Children’s Hospital. In 2000, Myrna was diagnosed with lung cancer and with her determination and the support and prayers of her family and friends was able to conquer it. She loved being a “grandma” and was so proud and excited about everything in her grandchildren’s lives. Myrna will be lovingly missed by her husband of forty years, Ron; her children Robert (Brenda) and Derik (Kathy); grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Brody and Levi; sister Martha; brother Barry; many special nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Jessie; stepfather Bill; brother Dave; and her children, David, Kevin and Heather. A Celebration of Myrna’s Life will be held at South Calgary Community Church (2900 Cedarbrae Drive S.W.) on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. A Private Family Graveside Service took place prior to the service.
