Condolences
I have only recently learnt of Dorothy’s passing. My family and I send our deepest sympathy.
Our first days in Thunder Bay were spent in the Lakehead University residence, along with your family, all strangers in a new land, but Dorothy was a delightful new friend.
Our thoughts are with you,

Soraiya, you are in my thoughts and prayers, the world as we know it, has lost a very special person. I’m so sorry for your loss, please stay strong, thinking of you, Peter…
I worked with Dorothy in Thunder Bay in the home for teenage girls and for abused women. She was exceptional, kind, intelligent and funny….I remember going to one of the first East Indian restaurants in Thunder Bay with her (and co-workers) and she explained each dish that arrived. I am glad she had a nice life and wished it could have been longer. My sincere sympathies to your family at such a great loss of a lovely woman!
We came to know Dorothy quite well through a friendship with her daughter Soraiya. Whenever we came through Coleman she always welcomed us with open arms.
I loved her sense of humor. She always made us laugh and was a lot of fun to be around. She said what was on her mind and it was often very funny.
I lost my mom about a year ago and I know how difficult this time is. Haroon and Soraiya our hearts go out to you!
Nigel, Patty, Ryan, Sean and Chad
