Obituary of TURINGAN – Fe Virginia Arcega

November 10, 1935 – April 15, 2011 In the early morning of April 15, 2011, Fe, beloved wife, sister, mother and grandmother, transcended her long-suffering to rest peacefully in the embrace of the Lord. Emigrating from the Philippines with her loving husband Virgilio and six children on February 8, 1974, Fe devoted her life to her family. While her husband and she worked tirelessly to materially provide for Josephine, Virgilio Jr., Cynthia, Victor, Catalina and Virginia, she lovingly wove their moral fabric with firm, steady hands, and strengthened the now indelible familial bonds. The childrens’ partners- Dale, Gemma, Mimi, Brian, and Uwe, became her true children in all but blood. Divided among so many, her love could not diminish in the slightest degree, and plying her great compassion and penetrating wisdom, she has managed to touch us all in unique ways. Among family, friends, acquaintances, and even complete strangers, Fe had an easy and disarming sense of humour, and she revelled in other people’s laughter. Sacrificing so much in her life, she had only one pleasure that was for her and her alone: delicious food shared with family. Blessed to call her “Grandma” are Lena (Scott), Jonathan (Kylie), Sheldon (Natasha), Luci, Jordan, Angell, Brittany (Nick), James (Noni), Ben, Lauren, Andrea, Michelina, Adam, Christian, Michael, Daniel and Nicholas; and Kingston gets to call her “Great Grandma”. Fe is also survived by her brothers Victor, Renato, Rafael, Abelardo, and their spouses. She was predeceased by her parents Felix and Virginia Arcega. When all is said and done it is grace that Fe embodied best; whenever we her loved ones look inward to find our place of calm and serenity we will see her smiling face. That is our birthright and her enduring legacy. We love you Grandma and will keep you in our hearts always. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation with Prayers and Tributes at Chapel of the Bells on Friday, April 22, 2011 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14th Street S.W.) on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
