Obituary of WELLENS – George Edward Ted William

April 8, 1945 – April 13, 2011 George “Ted” Wellens of Calgary passed away on Wednesday April 13, 2011 at the age of 66 years. Ted was born in Manchester, England and immigrated to Canada on March 22, 1952. He resided in Red Deer prior to moving to Calgary where he attended school, graduating from William Aberhart High School. He served with the Calgary Highlanders Reserve from 1962 – 1965. Ted was a draftsman in the oil and gas industry with several organizations. Ted is survived by his wife Marilyn, two sons George “Mark” and Chris, two sisters Donna (Larry) Lindemann and Carol Wellens-Stuby, as well as nieces, nephews and several other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Elsie and George Alfred Wellens. A Gathering to remember Ted will be held in the Reception Centre at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
