Obituary of LYONS – Betty Birnie

June 30, 1930 – April 13, 2011 It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected yet peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Betty Birnie Lyons on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the age of 80 years. Betty was born on June 30, 1930 in Medicine Hat and later moved to Calgary where she met her husband of fifty-two years, Verne, who predeceased her in 2004. Betty was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, travelling and spending time at her cottage. She will be lovingly remembered. She leaves behind to celebrate her life three sons, David (Susan), Jay (Katrin) and Lauchlin; and seven grandchildren, Brittany, Megan, Hayley, Jamie, John, Nicolas and Benjamin.
