Obituary of HANKINSON – Edna

July 18, 1916– April 9, 2011 After a long and happy life Edna Hankinson passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Saturday April 9, 2011. Edna Marie was born in Red Deer to pioneer parents John Coghlin and Grace (Hansen) Coghlin. She grew up in Rocky Mountain House and was married in 1941 to Arthur (Fritz) Hankinson. In 1954 they moved to Calgary and raised their four children. Edna loved her family dearly and nothing gave her more joy than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her strong faith in the Lord was apparent in everything she did and she will always be an inspiration to each of us. Edna is survived by her children, Gary (Sharon), Judy (Ted), Colleen (Brian), Jan (Les); eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; her sister Audrey and brothers Gordon and Jack. Edna was predeceased by her husband Fritz in 1983; her grand daughter Melissa in 1984; siblings Art, Del, Phyllis and Gladys. A celebration of Edna’s life will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1009 – 15 Avenue S.W. on Friday April 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
