Obituary of HUNT – Ruth Elizabeth
July 28, 1917 – April 8, 2011
Ruth Hunt of Airdrie passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the age of 93 years.
Ruth Hunt and her late husband Wilf were pioneer ranchers in the Lochend District since 1946. Through hard work and perseverance she lived out her 93 years dedicated to the rural way of life. Her legacy will live on with the development of a Rural Seniors Retirement Center on Hunt land.”
Ruth is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Maxwell Smith and Linda and Greg Sanden, all of Airdrie; five grandchildren and their spouses, Debbie and Barry Scott, Ken and Debi Smith, Paul and Tracey Sanden, Jackie Sanden and Ben Wornardt, and Heather and Mike Rabin; seven great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Rev. Dick Hunt of Maple Ridge, BC; three sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Wilf Hunt on August 25, 1989; three brothers, David, Bill and Wilf; and a sister-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at the All Saints’ Anglican Church (404 – 4th Avenue North, Cochrane, AB) on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through .
