Obituary of BURGER – Robin James

April 26, 1927– March 30, 2011 Robin Burger of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the age of 83 years. Born in Winnipeg April 26, 1927, Robin enlisted in the army just after his 16th birthday. From September 1944, he served in 1st Canadian Parachute Bn., in the UK, Belgium, Holland and Germany. With them he parachuted over the Rhine and went on to Wismar on the Baltic Sea. Robin graduated from McGill as a Geologist in 1949. He was active in the oil business until his death. With Dixie (deceased) he was the father of Stephen, Jennifer, Ann, Belle and Cindy; grandchildren Ryan, Robin, Lona, Erin, Clarke, Jillian and Jack. He met his beloved Rocio, on the beach in Mexico, they were married in September 1969, Alex came along a few years later. Robin had one brother, Major Peter Burger (deceased) A Celebration of Robin’s Life will be held at the Kensington Legion (1910 Kensington Road N.W.) on Friday, April 8 at 11:00 A.M.
