Obituary of FAMINOFF – Elaine
January 17, 1940 – March 24, 2011
Elaine Faminoff passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospice on Thursday March 24th, 2011.
Elaine is survived by Joseph Faminoff, husband of fifty-one years; her sons, Tim and Barry Faminoff; brother Alex Kabatoff; and sister Lola Mitchell.
Elaine grew up in the Cowley / Lundbreck area in Alberta and moved to Calgary after graduating grade twelve where she attended Mount Royal College and became a secretary. In Calgary she worked for the Royal Bank and Mount Royal University Foundation. Elaine had many talents but she enjoyed cooking and entertaining guests the most. She also enjoyed singing and joined a number of Doukhobor acapella choirs. Elaine and Joe spent many hours travelling to B.C. to perform at Doukhobor Festivals. Elaine will be loved by her friends and family and will be missed forever.
