Condolences
I will offer Mass for John. We served on the Gozaga Board together and I admired him greatly. I also visited at the summer/winter home one summer for a few days. I pray for peace for all his family and loved ones, especially his dear wife. Fr. Hayes, S.J.
Alice-Marie & family: We were so sad to hear of Mr. Maughn’s passing. I know he always told us to call him Jack, but Chas, having grown up knowing him as Mr. Maughn just couldn’t seem to do that! It doesn’t change the fact that he will be very missed and that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.
Brett, John and family, I saw you had lost your Dad and I feel so sad for you. The couple of times I met him back in the day he was very kind and such a gentleman. Brett catch me on Facebook under Marsha Austin so we can catch up. Take Care.
To Mike and the rest of the Maughan family, we are very sad to learn of the passing of your father. I have many great memories of watching Sooner games with John and generally joking around. We hope you are okay and find some comfort in knowing there are so many people thinking about you at this time. Take care, Love, Bayne Family
Our deepest sympathy to Alice-Marie and family. Jack was a great cheerful guy.
I was sorry to hear the news of John’s passing. He was a friend of my Dad, Bob Campbell. I met John back in the mid 90’s, when he was gratious enough to share his Denver condo with me and my young children, while we were between permanent residences. The timing of his generousity couldn’t have been better. I’m sure he will be missed by many.
Dear Aunt Alice-Marie and family, We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Jack was a vibrant and engaging man. He was very adept at relating the many different interesting stories he had to tell. He was quick-witted and ready to dispense advise. We recall Joe telling us of his dad reminding him “Tomorrow’s another day, Joe!” Well I am sure that Uncle Jack didn’t leave much until tomorrow and we hope you find that comforting.
Our deepest sympathy, Love
Paul and Janice Irving and family

I was deeply saddened to hear of John’s passing. During the time we were ‘neighbours’ at Elveden House, I was honored with John’s friendship. All of us at Algoma Steel will remember him as a kind and caring man.
Our sincere condolences to Alice-Marie and family.
Dear Alice-Marie and Family. Rosalyn and I wish to offer you our sincerest condolences on the passing of Jack. He was, indeed, a special person. All of us who knew him were touched by his graciousness and gentle spirit. We are proud to have known him. His zeal and passion for life were infectious. His many accomplishments and, espcially his charitable works are an amazing legacy.
He loved you dearly Alice-Marie and was so proud of his children. When asked, he excitedly related each of his children’ accomplishments. I was pleased to teach your gifted children both at St. Mary’s and later at Bishop Carroll.
Unfortunately, we are out of the country tomorrow morning and will not be able to attend the services. We will remember Jack, you and your family in our daily prayers and especially at Mass during this Lenten Season.
Michael K. Martin, Ph.D.
I was often struck by John’s irrepresible smile and enthusiasm. His look of delight when someone amused him. I have long remembered him with fondness. You will miss him terribly and my thoughts are with all of you.
Condolences from Len and Armida Doyle and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
So sorry to hear of the passing of our good friend John. He was generous to Canadian Martyrs Parish in Invermere. Always sociable and encouraging in our church development. He will also be missed on the golf course.
Our deepest sympathy to the family at this time. We are with you in prayers till we return to Calgary in April
