Obituary of WONG – Mayme Rose
October 1, 1944 – March 14, 2011
Mayme passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia. Mayme is survived by her sisters Faye Thompson and Margaret Wong of Calgary. Mayme will be deeply missed by her long-time friend and traveling buddy Lynne Craig and her adopted family, The Craigs, as well as numerous friends and her special friend Jasmine. Mayme retired in 1993 after a long and successful career with AGT. In her retirement Mayme enjoyed many world-wide adventures, hiking, camping, picnics in the Kananaskis, gardening, games days, her weekly walk downtown for dim sum and her Wednesday beer with her “boys”. She was a giving person who spent countless hours volunteering with the food bank and being a special caregiver to two of her favourite people, Gena and Ken Dopson. Mayme loved San Francisco and went annually to enjoy the Chinese New Year’s parade. She also loved those “damned Yankees” and went to New York to watch them play for her sixty-fifth birthday. At Mayme’s request there will be no formal service. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
