Obituary of BEVAN – Vera Catherine

November 1, 1923 – March 13, 2011 Vera Bevan of Airdrie, AB peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 13 2011 at the age of 87 years. Vera was born and raised in High River, AB. While raising her family she also worked at the Airdrie Post Office for twenty-four years. Her passions were sewing, painting and teaching ceramics which led to her creating Vera’s Ceramics which spanned for over thirty years. Vera volunteered with the United Church Woman and together with Gordon they delivered Meals on Wheels for fifteen years. She will be missed by family and friends. Vera is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Heather and Bob Erickson of Sidney, BC; a son and daughter-in-law Ron and Judy Bevan of Calgary; four grandchildren, Eldon Erickson and his wife Stella, David Erickson and his wife Karin, Christina Erickson and Mathew Bevan; four great-grandchildren, Mia, Oliver, Sylvie and Ashley Erickson. She is also survived by a brother and two sisters-in-law, Bill and Faye Hurst of High River, AB and Ruth Hurst of Calgary as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1992; her sister Margaret and her brother George.
