Obituary of POUCETTE-LEFTHAND – Tawny Riel
Iyarhe Weya – Mountain Woman
November 30, 1989 – March 10, 2011
After a long search it is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Angel, Tawny Poucette-Lefthand of Morley, at the age of 21 years.
She will be missed by her beloved son Calum (Dada); her boyfriend Gary Smallboy; her mother Miranda Poucette; her brothers, Lonnie and Otis and her father Tony Lefthand. Dukez loved her son Dada very much and made sure his needs were met first before hers. She was a quiet, kind, caring and humorous person who joked around with people whom she was close with. Dukez had a passion for music and loved to dance to RnB and Hip-hop. She participated in Pow-wows as a jingle dress dancer since she was 2 years old until her teen years. Dukez received her schooling at Exshaw Elementary, Morley Community School, Longview and Oil Fields High. We were blessed to have known her and been touched by such an incredible strong and loving woman. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Dukez is survived and will be missed by her maternal grandparents Paul and Kathleen Poucette; aunties, Koko (Fred), Pauline (Darrell), Sandra (Antonio), Paula (Marvin), Natalie (Rob) and Rachel; uncles, Paget (Linda), Lee (Darla) and Kyle; special cousins, Boyd, Robbie (Tobias), Lacey, Carmen (Chris), Brody (Kelsey), Kayla and Tye (Tabitha). She is also survived and missed by her paternal grandparents Carl and Mina Lefthand; aunties, Irene, Ethel and Dionne; uncles, Bob (Brenda), Joe and Jason (Crystal); numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends, Vinny, Talia Cecil, Larana Holloway, Keri, Allison Smalleyes, Shandell Lefthand, Jeretta Daniels, Jr Campeau and Dakota Pratt; many extended families, the Poucette’s, Crawler’s, Lefthand’s, Dixon’s and Kootenay’s. The family apologizes for anyone they may have missed.
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Paul and Kathleen Poucette (Morley, AB) on Thursday, March 17, 2011 and Friday, March 18, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Saturday, March 19, 2011 1:00 p.m. Graveside Services to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery (Morley, AB). Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank Lenny Wesley and family, the Foothills Search and Rescue and Eden Valley Wellness Centre for their help in our search for Dukez.
