Obituary of HENDERSON – Shirley Joan

November 11, 1953 – March 10, 2011 Shirley Joan Henderson (nee Enjeneski) passed away quietly in her sleep on Thursday, March 10, 2011. Shirley spent most of her life in Calgary, but also lived as far away as Germany, and as close as Brooks before settling again in her hometown of Calgary. The last decade was spent living at Barr Homes with some very remarkable roommates. They all loved to go to concerts together and even vacationed together in Las Vegas and Nashville. Shirley struggled with serious health issues most of her life, and during the last few years her health deteriorated, curtailing a lot of the activities she loved, such as volunteering at the Kirby Centre and shopping at Westbrook Mall. She is survived by her two children, Serena and Paul Wutzke; her grandmother Mary Magusiak; her two brothers, Brian and Jim ( Kathie) Enjeneski; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be sadly missed by all of her friends and family, as well as her extended family at Barr Homes: Ralph Bales, Stan Fong, Fred Leclair, and Perry and Sonja Litwack. Shirley was predeceased by both of her parents, Olga and Joe Enjeneski; and her husband Dave Henderson. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
