Obituary of L’ AMARCA – Rosa

September 2, 1944 – March 6, 2011 Mrs. Rosa L’Amarca, beloved wife of Mike L’Amarca of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the age of 66 years, surrounded by her family. Rosa was born on September 2, 1944 in Lausodomini, Naples, Italy. Michaelangelo “Mike” and Rosa were married on February 5, 1967, and she joined him in Canada on March 7, 1967 where they made their home in Calgary. Together they raised son Antonio “Tony”, and daughter Antonietta. Rosa loved her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking, baking Christmas cookies, and pilgrimages. She was extremely devoted to her Faith, which included daily prayers for her family and friends, both living and deceased. Rosa always had a really positive outlook on life, no matter the challenge. Besides her loving husband Mike, she is survived by her son Tony; daughter Antonietta (Enzo) and Giulia; brothers Giuseppe (Maria) and Antonio (Maria); sisters-in-law Felicetta, Louisa, Rosa, Maria (Alfredo), Maddalena, Teresa (Pat), Anna; brother-in-law Joe; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
