Obituary of PLATT – Jean Ethel

August 17, 1923 – February 28, 2011 Jean Platt of Calgary passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Jean was born and raised in Olds, AB before moving to Calgary where she met her first husband Bill. She was an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player. Jean was a long time member of the Calgary Golf and Country Club and the Glencoe Club. She will always be remembered in the hearts of family and friends. Jean is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Terri Mair; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laurie and Darwyne (Sam) Sereda and Lindsay Arsenault; five grandchildren, Megan Sereda, Kelsey Sereda, Blake Mair, Stuart Mair and Cory Arsenault. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law Edna and Roy Kelly as well as two sisters-in-law, Eileen (Gordon Pearce) and Marlie (Bill Walsh). Jean was predeceased by her first husband Bill Mair in 1960 and her second husband Hugh Platt in 2000. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
