Obituary of Campbell – Glenn Alexander

September 29, 1918 – February 21, 2011 Glenn was born to Robert and Edith Campbell Sept. 29, 1918 at their home, 12 miles south of Glen Ewan, Sask. His parents were farmers and Glenn successfully continued on that proud tradition in the Oxbow area until 1974 when he sold the farmland. Glenn never missed an opportunity to talk to farmers about farming whenever he could. He maintained friendships from those farming days to the end of his life. Glenn passed away on Feb. 21, 2011 in the compassionate care of Chinook Care Centre, Calgary. We sincerely thank the staff and especially, volunteer Norma, who became Glenn’s friend. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Florence, as well as his first wife, Terry Venne. He and his second wife, Yvonne Martin, lived in Calgary for many years until she passed away. He is survived by Yvonne’s family; his niece, Marleen (Rick) Soutar, Vancouver and his nephews, Dale (Kris) Kohaly, Winnipeg and Glenn (Virginia) Kohaly, Kelowna as well as several great nieces and nephews. His family will miss his fantastic memory for detail and great story telling. Glenn was a past Lions member, loved to travel, particularly to fishing sites and in later life, he kept in touch with his friends on the phone. In particular, he will be missed by his long time companion, Anne Strothers of Claresholm. Glenn will return to Saskatchewan when he is laid to rest in Oxbow, beside his parents and sister. No flowers by request and if desired, a donation to your favourite charity in his name would be greatly appreciated.
