Obituary of WIRTH – Catherine

January 22, 1922- February 19, 2011 Catherine Wirth (Halas) passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, February 19, 2011 in Calgary. She is survived by son George, daughters Rose Marie (Mickey) and Pauline (Terry). Her grandchildren Lorinna (Joe), Seanna, Andrea (Harry) and Derrick (Lori-Ann). Her great grandchildren Alexandra, Nicholas, Andrew, Megan, Cadence, Fayt and Ronin, as well as her grand dogs Wylie, Domino, and Taz. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Andrew in 1970, her parents Stefan and Franka and her brothers John, Joe, Mike, Peter and her sister Annie, as well as other relatives and dear friends. Catherine was proud to be born and raised in Calgary. She cherished spending time with her family, especially the children. Some of her favorite things were playing cards and games, painting, making crafts and watching sports and Y & R. She attended the Golden Age Club (the Downtown Friendship Centre) and the C3 Program at Carewest Sarcee where she found joy chatting and laughing with old and new friends. She brought laughter and touched many hearts. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Join the Celebration of Catherine’s life at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11:00 am.
