Obituary of YELLOW SUN – Lillian Marie

Matoominhkiyaki 1947 – 2011 Lillian Marie Yellow Sun passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the age of 64 years. Lily leaves behind a loving daughter Melissa (Thomas) a beautiful grandson Dylan, also leaves behind daughters she raised as her own; Thomasina (Lance), Melody (Joe), Jackie, Melanie (Dan), her grandchildren Mariah, Kiara, baby Wayne, Danielle, Zachery (Kevyn) Tanner, Peyton, Tabitha, Desmond, and Triston, great granddaughters Sienna and Arianna. Lily is also survived by her mother Rose Alma Many Shots, Auntie Gertrude Turning Robe, sisters Patricia, Georgina, Melvina (Charles), Angelina (Henry), Virginia, Regina (Wesley) and brother Duane (Gabriella), many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great great nieces, nephew. Lily will be sadly missed by her friends and relatives, mostly her family, extended families; Sleighs, Little Chief, Wolfleg, Low Horn, Spring Chief, Weasel Head, White Elk, Smiths, Black Kettle, Many Guns, Tallman, Three Suns, Big Snake, Sitting Eagle, Poor Eagles, Turning Robe, Backfat, Eagle Child, Crow Chiefs. She was predeceased by her father John Yellow Sun, brothers Winston, Floyd, sisters Delphine, Betty, niece Vivian, nephews Clifton, Lindsay, Zennon and great niece Kimberly. Lily attended St. Joseph Residential School from 1953 to 1959. She was a homemaker and a Nanny to all her nieces and nephews. Lily also enjoyed her travelling especially her trips to Lac St. Anne that meant a lot to her. Lily was a very kind and loving lady to everyone who surrounded her. Wake Services will be held at the residence of the late Lillian Yellow Sun, Siksika Nation, AB on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 starting at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Siksika Nation, AB on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Little Washington Cemetery Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
