Obituary of WANGLER – Margaret Ann

February 19, 1922 – February 5, 2011 Margaret passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 88 years; just two weeks short of her 89th birthday. Born in Belapatfalva, Hungary, she immigrated to Canada in 1930 and settled in Calgary, AB with her mother Roza and her sister Sarah, coming to join her father Gabor who had emigrated in 1926. Margaret worked hard all her life in the service industry and took great pride in her career as a nurses aid, working well into retirement. Margaret gave tirelessly of herself, volunteering for various community and church associations. She had a unique wit and sense of humour, enjoyed playing bingo and cards with friends and family. She also bred and raised Canaries. Margaret is survived by her loving daughter Betty (Les) Sardi; four grandchildren, Les (Monica) Sardi, Betty Jane (Karl) Schlenker, Kathy (Robert) Groenen, Terry Sardi (fiancé Brent Piercy); nine great-grandchildren, Tatiana and Wyatt Sardi; Kate, Kori and Kimberly Schlenker; Benjamin Stieger; and Kristina, Bence and Gregory Antal. She is also survived by her sister Sherry (Gordon) Palmer and their four children and families. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Gabor and Roza Pelyhe; her first husband Joseph Gall and her second husband Jack Wangler.
