Obituary of BROADFOOT – Marjorie Nancy

October 27, 1918 – February 2, 2011 Marjorie Broadfoot of Black Diamond, AB passed away at the Foothills Country Hospice on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the age of 92 years. Marjorie Nancy Broadfoot was born in Mulvahill, MB on October 27, 1918. She met her husband Jack while he was teaching school in Strathclair, MB. They went skating arm in arm and fell in love. They were married in 1941. Jack was overseas for three years and during that time, Marjorie worked in the barracks stores and packed parachutes. Marjorie and Jack had two children, Janice born on March 29, 1950 and Scott born on March 26, 1957. Marjorie and Jack moved the family in 1970 to Hillgreen Place, Calgary. They enjoyed the friendship from all the neighbours until 2008 when Marjorie moved to the High Country Lodge in Black Diamond. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Janice (Robin) Tudor, her son Scott (Donna) Broadfoot, her granddaughter-in-law Alexandra Bednash, her grandson Tyler (Rae) Bednash and her great grandchildren Jax, Stevie and Sammy. She was predeceased by her parents Jeanette and Albin Tragard, her sisters Bernice Berry and Gladys Pearsall, her husband Jack Broadfoot and her grandson Daniel Bednash Marge will always be remembered for her welcoming smile and a laugh from her soul. Marjorie’s passing marks the end of a generation for the Tragards and the Broadfoots. She always said she was a tough old Swede. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
