Obituary of QUANCE – Daniel Charles

September 30, 1947 – February 1, 2011 Daniel Quance left us peacefully on February 1, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was an example to us all of how to live a life full of dignity, courage, kindness and love in spite of the many challenges that he faced in life Dan was born, raised and educated in Alberta, graduating with a B.P.E. from U of C, where, sporting number 43, he played centre for the Dinos basketball team, and won two consecutive M.V.P. awards. He was an athlete and a born teacher who loved to learn almost as much as he loved to teach. His family meant the world to him and he also had a passion for music, sports, playing chess, and especially horses. He had a genuine interest in others and loved to talk and banter with people on any topic. Dan was a very principled person who believed in being tolerant and responsible. Dan will forever be remembered and missed by his best friend and wife, Susan; two children Bryan Quance (Jenilee Schlinker), and Robyn Hay (Glen); and his precious granddaughters Catherine and Sonya. He is also survived by his mother and father Betty and Charles Quance; sister Sandra Jensen (Barry); sister-in-law Donna Jopling (Gary); mother-in-law Dorothy Hardy; and nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his father-in-law Bill Hardy. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. You may forward condolences through .
