Obituary of BROWN – Eileen Evadell

January 1, 1921 – January 28, 2011 With heavy hearts Eileen’s family announces that she passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter surrounded by her grandchildren on January 28, 2011 at the age of 90 years. Eileen was born in High River on January 1, 1921. Eileen attended business school and started her secretarial career in Edmonton in 1943. After the war Eileen returned to Calgary, married, raised a family and returned to work ending her career as a legal secretary for the late Frank Fleming. Eileen made many long lasting friendships with co-workers over the years. Eileen was a very intelligent, kind hearted woman who was the happiest when amongst family and friends. She was a “doer”, a perfectionist and always there to lend a hand or ear and put family first. Eileen was proud of her Scottish heritage and cherished her visits to Scotland. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and a good game of Canasta with the ladies at Luther Place. Eileen was strong in body, mind and spirit and lived a long and healthy life. When her health began to deteriorate in July she was determined not to dally on this Earth once her prized independence was taken away. Eileen will be remembered with love and gratitude by her daughter Maureen (Steve) Siegfried, grandsons Rob (Tracy), Brett (Stephanie) and Ryan Sherin and great grandson Rhett. Her daughter Cheryl (Bill) Meikle, granddaughter Debbie (John) Hartloff, grandson’s Brent (Connie), Ches (Tanya), Mark (Bonnie) Meikle. Great grandchildren Jaime (Navi), Hadley, Cody, Shelby, Jesse and Jordan and great greatgranddaughter Kailyn. Also left to mourn is her brother Roy Malcolm and family, sister in law Blanche Malcolm and family, brother-in-law Glen (Eleanor) and Doris Brown, numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. Eileen is predeceased by her four brothers, her niece Lynda, her husband Doyle, and her son Warren. Our most heartfelt thanks to Angela (Home Instead) who gave Mom such compassionate care in her hours of need. Eileen referred to Angela as “Her Angel”. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church in Millarville, AB on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Millarville Cemetery. Forward condolences through .
