Obituary of DE BLASIO – Andrea

July 30, 1938 – January 25, 2011 Andrea De Blasio of Calgary, beloved husband of Antonia De Blasio of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2011 at the age of 72 years, just six days after Antonia. Andrea was born and raised in Roccarainola, Naples, Italy and immigrated to Canada in March of 1955 and married his wife of fifty-one years, Antonia De Blasio in 1959. He was a loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend. Andrea will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Andrea is survived by his four children, Gaetano (Kate) De Blasio, Mary (Joe) Greco, Lisa De Blasio and Andy De Blasio; nine grandchildren, Richard (Erin) De Blasio, Vanessa De Blasio, Frank Greco, MariaAngela Ambrosino, Anthony Greco, Michaelangelo De Blasio, Francesca Ambrosino, Melissa De Blasio, and Nicholas De Blasio; and extended family in Italy. He is also survived by his siblings, Maria, Fortunato, Antonietta (predeceased), Raffaela, Giovanna, Aniello, Giuseppe, Angelo, and Rocco. Andrea was predeceased by his wife of fifty-one years, Antonia De Blasio, only six days prior. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass that will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Services to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
