Obituary of SPEER – Morley Dale

July 20, 1921 – January 25, 2011 Morley Speer, beloved husband of Anna Speer passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Morley was born in Mayerthorpe, AB on July 20, 1921. He was a long time employee of Woodwards Department Store, manager of the food floor from the age of 24 until his retirement at the age of 58. Morley was very dedicated to the Salvation Army, Glenmore Temple for many years, he was always ready to reach out and help people any way he could. Morley will be missed by his dear wife Anna; children, Coral Speer of Edmonton, Richard and Rosland Speer of B.C., Judy and Henry Michalski of Calgary, Sandra and Doug Boulton of Bragg Creek and Maynard and Jennifer Opperman of Calgary; grandchildren, Doug M. Boulton, Sara and Garth Whelen, Henry M. Michalski, Marcus Opperman and Todd and Eric Speer. He will also be remembered by his sister Lorna and brother Wayne. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Speer in 1976, daughter Lorna Mae in 1968 and his brothers Warren, Lloyd and Gerald. Funeral Services will be held at Salvation Army, Glenmore Temple (921 – 68th Avenue S.W.) on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
