Obituary of BAGNALL – Loretta Kathleen
April 9, 1916 – January 23, 2011
Mrs. Loretta K. Bagnall passed away peacefully at the Bowcrest Care Center on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the age of 94 years.
Loretta is survived by her eight children (spouses): Rev. Larry, Keith, Doug (Sue), Bud (Wendy), Bob (Bev), Sheila (Dave) Podmaroff, Pat (Cathy), and Nora (Doug) Kowalsky, as well as seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Loretta is also survived by her sisters; Rita Andrews and Sheila LaLonde. Loretta was predeceased by her husband Herbert, brothers; Ivor, Hugh, Donald and Kevin Cassidy, sister Leone Smith, daughter-in-law Margie Bagnall, and grandchild Rachael Bagnall. Loretta was born in Ottawa, Ontario and was the eldest child of Joseph and Elizabeth Cassidy. Joseph’s Pharmaceutical practice eventually brought Loretta to Black Diamond, AB, where she met and married Herbert in 1940. Loretta was the anchor for her family and an active member of the church community.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Larry Bagnall, Celebrant. The family will have a private internment service at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
