Obituary of MORRISON – John

March 12, 1915 – January 22, 2011 It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of John Morrison, 95, on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving wife and family, with his great granddaughter gently singing and holding her grandpa’s hand during his final hours. Born in London, ON, John spent most of his life in Edmonton. He taught passionately for 37 years, many at Bonnie Doon High School. Those who knew him can attest to his love of painting and gardening and were treated to the sound of his voice as he sang. Survived by Emma, his adoring wife of 55 years, John was predeceased by his infant daughter, Agnes Ann, who sadly passed away at the tender age of 3 months, as well as his little sister Agnes and younger brother William (Bill). John is lovingly remembered by his daughter Lorrie (Wayne); son, Eldon (Marcia); cherished grandchildren Charity (Dennis), Sharaya and Connor; precious great-grandchildren Desi, Sapphire and Jade. His infectious charm will sadly be missed and held forever in our memories. Our family would like to sincerely thank the many wonderful staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
