SUNDBERG Robert John

Obituary of SUNDBERG – Robert John

March 30, 1938 – January 20, 2011 Bob was a native Calgarian and that is where he married Maureen fifty years ago and raised their girls, Cathy (Joe) and Shannon (Eric). He was very proud of his grandchildren, Riley, Owen, David, and Katelyn. Our family will miss Sunday brunch with grandpa! We all loved our time together. He was a proud family man. Bob had a passion for welding and owned Sundberg Welding. He was a jovial clown with the Al Azhar Shrine Clowns, Jester and community person. Bob was always there to help out his family and friends, he could build anything fix anything and enjoyed teaching us how to do all those things. His life was full of love and fellowship that he shared willingly. Throughout his life he touched us all in different way and for that reason I really think we can call him a good and loving friend, husband, dad, grandpa. He is survived by his mother Hazel, brother Don (Vi) and sister Linda (Eugene) and many nieces and nephews that he cared for very much. Bob passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He has requested that there not be a funeral but instead close family and friends will celebrate his life privately. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Shriners Hospital for Children Sneaker Fund, c/o Al Azhar Shriners, 5225 – 101 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T3L 1S4 Telephone: 403-239-0030.
