Obituary of Franklin Alfred DOE
August 26, 1949 – Windsor, Ontario
September 22, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta
Rev. Franklin (Frank) Alfred Doe beloved husband of Margaret Doe of Canmore, AB, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the age of 70 years.
Frank was born in Windsor, ON, on August 26, 1949. Frank’s passion was to make the world a better place, starting in high school in Windsor where he organized a school spirit committee. He attended the University of Waterloo, receiving his Bachelor of Environmental Studies in 1972. While at the University of Waterloo, he worked for Pollution Probe encouraging recycling and challenging companies to clean up their effluent. Frank also worked as assistant to the Deputy Minister of the Environment in Manitoba, where he was instrumental in developing an Environmental Assessment and review process. He later attended the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with his Masters of Divinity in 1983. As a priest in the Anglican Church he taught God’s love for all people and because of that love, we should love others and care for the World. He served in Christ Church in Lively, ON, St. John’s in Thunderbay, ON, and St. Michael’s in Canmore.
Besides his loving wife Margaret, Frank is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Sean Crooks of Calgary, AB; son, Timothy of Canmore, AB, and grandchildren, Izzy and Will Crooks. He is also survived by his sister, Beverley Murray of Kingsville, ON, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Frank was predeceased by parents, Franklin and Evelyn Doe, and his sister, Patricia.
A Private Family Celebration of Frank’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY ().
